Will a massage headrest fit your bed? Mattress, topper and box spring explained
Most beds do not require a special size. Three quick checks show whether the Ezspa headrest can sit correctly beside your mattress.
Fit is the most practical question before buying. The Ezspa Bed Massage Set does not clamp around a fixed mattress thickness. Its foot slides underneath and the cushion stands beside the head of the bed. This allows the same set to work with many mattress types, provided there is enough clearance for the foot and uprights.[1]
How the five height settings work
At the highest setting, the wooden frame is about 30 centimetres high and reaches approximately 38 centimetres with the cushion. A lower mattress uses a lower notch. The goal is not to match one mandatory number, but to place the cushion close to the level of the surface supporting the body.[1][2]
Do not focus only on mattress thickness. Check whether the foot can slide underneath and whether one of the five settings places the cushion comfortably beside it.
Using the headrest with a box spring
Lift the mattress or topper slightly at the head end and slide the V-shaped foot beneath it. The mattress weight steadies the frame. If the base has a tall raised edge, check that the two uprights can still run freely between the edge and the wall.
Using it with a topper
Include the topper in the total lying height, but slide the foot beneath the heavier supporting mattress rather than beneath a very light topper alone. This gives the frame more resistance. Adjust the cushion to the level where the body actually rests.
Using it with a traditional bed frame
The principle is the same with slats or another bed base: the foot lies between the mattress and its support. A raised headboard edge is the main detail to check. No screws are required as long as the uprights can stand next to the mattress.
The three-step compatibility check
- Measure from the bottom of the mattress to the top, including the topper. Whole centimetres are accurate enough.
- Check that you can lift the mattress at the head end and slide a flat wooden foot beneath it.
- Leave open space beyond the bed for the cushion, clear of a wall, solid headboard or bedside furniture.
Adjusting it after unpacking
Start with the cushion roughly level with the top of the mattress. Lie down slowly. If the chin moves towards the chest, try a higher setting. If the head tips backwards, use a lower one. One notch can make a noticeable difference on a soft mattress.
Ezspa states that the set assembles without tools in around 30 seconds. The 30-day return period also gives you time to check the actual fit and preferred setting on your own bed.[1]
Situations that need an extra check
- A waterbed or highly mobile mattress needs extra attention to stability.
- A fully enclosed or strongly raised bed edge may obstruct the uprights.
- A bed tight against the wall first needs space at the head end.
- If a health condition affects prone lying, ask a healthcare professional about the position first.
A confident choice without complicated measuring
For most mattresses, the under-mattress foot and five height settings are designed to provide useful adjustment without permanent installation. Measure once, check the space and fine-tune by feel. You will quickly know whether your bed can become a comfortable massage space.
How the Ezspa Bed Massage Set fits
The Ezspa Bed Massage Set offers five height settings and is designed for almost any mattress. The 30-day return period lets you test the fit on your own box spring, topper or bed.
